This project won an award from The Urban Land Institute for Excellence in Development. The Aston development was executed over three phases, each possessing their own unique stylistic identity, so the project does not feel like a large imposition to the historic neighborhood. Sullivan Bruck developed a master plan for all three phases, addressing the developer’s vision along with the many restrictions and issues the site presented. The first phase, Aston Place, is a 3-story 44-unit apartment building over a semi-recessed parking garage. Phase 2, Aston Row, is a single long row of ten townhomes facing the Aston Place courtyard across an existing alley which was upgraded to feel like a walkable street.  Phase 3, Aston Estates, was required by the historic commission to blend into the Victorian-era residential street and was designed as two and three family buildings with a more historic character.
